Acetylene is mainly the inhibition of the central nervous system, anesthesia, high concentration of exposure to individuals may appear liver, kidney and pancreas damage. Because of its low toxicity and fast metabolism detoxification, acute poisoning under production conditions is relatively rare. Vomiting, shortness of breath, spasm and even coma may occur during acute poisoning. After oral administration, burning sensation of lips and throat can occur. After several hours of incubation period, dry mouth, vomiting, drowsiness, moderate acidosis, ketosis and even temporary disturbance of consciousness can occur. The long-term damage of acetylene to human body is manifested as eye irritation, such as tears, photophobia and corneal epithelial infiltration. It can also be manifested as vertigo, burning sensation, throat irritation, cough, etc.
Inhalation: the concentration below 500ppm has no effect, 500-1000ppm will stimulate the nose and throat, 1000ppm can cause headache and dizziness. Dizziness, drunkenness, drowsiness, nausea and vomiting can be produced at 2000-10000 ppm, and high concentration can lead to unconsciousness, coma and death.
