How to understand protection level of gas alarm detector?
IP is the code for the protection level of the enclosure of electrical equipment. I represents the level to prevent solid foreign objects from entering, the highest level is 6; P represents the level to prevent water ingress, the highest level is 8.
The letter IP is the abbreviation of Ingress Protection Rating. The two digits behind the IP, the first digit is the solid protection level, that is, the dust protection level we are exposed to, and the grade division range is 0-6; the second digit is the liquid protection Rating, which is what we often say about the waterproof rating test, the rating range is 0-8.
In this standard, for the protection of foreign objects by electrical equipment enclosures, the format of the IP rating is IPXX, where XX is two Arabic numerals, the first marked number represents the protection level of contact protection and foreign objects, and the second marked number represents the waterproof protection level , The specific protection level can refer to the table below.
IP is the international code used to determine the protection level. Ip level is composed of two numbers, the first number means dustproof; the second number means waterproof, the higher the number, the better the protection level.
Dust level (the first X indicates)
0: No protection
1: Prevent large solid intrusion
2: Prevent the invasion of medium-sized solids
3: Prevent intrusion of small solids
4: Prevent solids larger than 1mm from entering
5: Prevent the accumulation of harmful dust
6: Completely prevent dust from entering
Waterproof level (the second X indicates)
0: No protection
1: No effect when water drops drip into the shell
2: Water or rainwater dripping from the 15-degree angle onto the shell has no effect
3: Water or rainwater dripping from the 60 degree angle onto the shell has no effect
4: No impact from splashing water at any angle
5: No impact on low-pressure injection at any angle
6: High-pressure jet water has no effect
7: Can withstand water immersion in a short time (15cm-1m, within half an hour)
8: Immersed in water for a long time under a certain pressure
