Analysis Of Common Faults Of Fixed Gas Detectors

Mar 21, 2025 Leave a message

Fixed gas detectors are a common type of gas detectors, mainly composed of two parts: a controller and a gas detector. Only by correctly installing these two parts can they ensure their normal operation.

Common faults of fixed gas detectors are mainly caused by improper use by users, lack of understanding of detector performance, improper equipment selection, users not constructing according to specifications, and insufficient maintenance. The following mainly analyzes the reasons for the failure of users using combustible gas detectors, and proposes how to use combustible gas detectors correctly to minimize the occurrence of gas alarm failures.

1. Improper use by users

When the user of the gas alarm uses the gas detector, the air conditioner and heating equipment are installed close to the combustible gas detector. When the air conditioner and heating equipment are used, if the cold and warm air flow directly blows through the combustible gas alarm, it may cause the combustible gas alarm resistivity to change and cause errors.

2. Unstandardized construction process

Unstandardized construction process will cause the combustible gas detector to detect faults during use. If the combustible gas detector is not installed near the equipment where combustible gas is easily leaked, or is installed adjacent to the exhaust fan during installation, the leaked combustible gas cannot be fully diffused to the vicinity of the combustible gas detector, so that the leakage danger cannot be detected by the combustible gas detector in time.

If the combustible gas detector is not grounded, it will not be able to eliminate electromagnetic interference, which will inevitably affect the voltage and cause inaccurate detection data. Therefore, the combustible gas detector should be reliably grounded during construction. The combustible gas alarm and wiring terminals are located in places that are prone to collision or water ingress, causing electrical circuits to break or short-circuit. Non-corrosive flux must be used for welding, otherwise the joints will corrode and become detached or the line resistance will increase, affecting normal detection. Do not drop or throw the detector to the ground. After construction, debugging should be carried out to ensure that the combustible gas alarm is in normal working condition.

3. Maintenance

In order to detect the concentration of combustible gas, the combustible gas detector must communicate with the detection environment. Therefore, it is inevitable that various pollutants and dust in the environment enter the detector. The damage to the working conditions of the detector is an objective existence. Many are installed outdoors. Poor maintenance will cause errors or no detection of the combustible gas alarm.

Regular cleaning and maintenance of the combustible gas detector is an important task to prevent failures. Grounding should be checked regularly. If the grounding does not meet the standard requirements or is not grounded at all, the combustible gas detector will be susceptible to electromagnetic interference and cause failures.

With the rapid development of industry, there are more and more places where humans are exposed to harmful gases, which causes more and more harm to humans themselves. One poisoning accident after another has made people realize the importance of protecting human safety while developing industry. Therefore, alarms and detectors have gradually become indispensable protective equipment in industrial safety production.
