The steel industry is a basic industry of my country's national economy and occupies an important position in my country's national economy and national defense construction. For the steel industry, its production process is a high-risk industry with dangerous factors such as high temperature and high pressure, flammable and explosive, toxic and harmful. With the development of the steel industry, some safety hazards have emerged. Therefore, it is particularly important to ensure safe production and the life and health of production personnel.
1.In the steel and metallurgical process, many safety problems arise due to personnel and equipment. It is particularly important to take safe and effective methods to reduce the occurrence of casualties. The safety hazards in the steel industry are:
(1) Leakage of flammable gases in production;
(2) Excessive concentration of toxic and harmful gases in production;
(3) Hidden dangers of high temperature and high pressure equipment;
(4) Problems with aging of electrical equipment;
(5) Gas leakage in the production process, etc.

2.Gas hazards of steel plants
(1). Carbon monoxide
Usually, when the concentration of carbon monoxide in the air reaches 5%-10%, it can cause carbon monoxide poisoning. After carbon monoxide enters the human body, it will combine with hemoglobin in the blood, and then the number of hemoglobin that can combine with oxygen will decrease sharply, causing hypoxia in the body tissues and leading to suffocation and death.
(2). Carbon dioxide
The main harm of carbon dioxide to the human body is to stimulate the respiratory center of the human body, causing shortness of breath, increased smoke inhalation, and headaches, confusion and other symptoms.
(3). Nitrogen oxides
Nitrogen oxides refer to compounds composed of only two elements, nitrogen and oxygen. Common nitrogen oxides include nitric oxide (NO, colorless), nitrogen dioxide (NO2, reddish brown), nitrous oxide (N2O), and dinitrogen pentoxide (N2O5). Except for dinitrogen pentoxide, which is solid under normal conditions, other nitrogen oxides are gaseous under normal conditions. Nitrogen oxides (NOx) as air pollutants often refer to NO and NO2.
(4). Sulfur dioxide
Sulfur dioxide (chemical formula SO2) is the most common, simplest, and most irritating sulfur oxide. Sulfur dioxide concentrations above 0.5ppm in the atmosphere have potential effects on the human body; at 1~3ppm, most people begin to feel irritated; at 400~500ppm, people will develop ulcers and pulmonary edema until they suffocate to death. Sulfur dioxide has a synergistic effect with smoke in the atmosphere. When the sulfur dioxide concentration in the atmosphere is 0.21ppm and the smoke concentration is greater than 0.3mg/L, the incidence of respiratory diseases can increase and the condition of patients with chronic diseases can deteriorate rapidly.
In steel smelting, the main thing is the transportation of coal gas, which makes it possible for poisonous gases such as CO, H2, coal gas, and chlorine to leak in the workshop, thus causing casualties. This requires the installation of gas alarms to monitor the gas concentration in the existing working environment. The gas alarms produced by our company can detect the gas concentration on site, and have sound and light alarms, so as to kill the safety hazards within the initial range, ensure that the harmful gases generated in the production workshop are within the safety standards, and upload the data collected by the alarm to the control computer through the upper computer software to realize the centralized management of on-site production.
