Which places need to set up toxic gas detection and alarm points?
Alarm Points are nessary in the workplaces where toxic gases exist, used or produced, and the palce where may cause acute occupational poisoning. The place refers to the places where highly toxic gases may be released, or workplaces where other toxic gases may be released in large quantities or easily gathered.
Where are the common detection and alarm points?
(1) the detection and alarm point shall be set near the release point where toxic gas may be released, such as delivery pump, compressor, valve, flange, charging port, sampling port, discharge port of storage and transportation equipment, loading and unloading port of toxic liquid or possible overflow outlet, filling port of toxic gas, and vulnerable parts of toxic material equipment, etc.
(2) Detection and alarm points should also be set in the channels, sewage outlets,the corners and tunnels that are associated with the toxic gas release source sites.
(3) Although there is no toxic gas release point in the workplace, once the toxic gas released near the release point is likely to spread and cause injury to workers. So detection and alarm points should be set at the possible entrance of toxic gas or at the place where workers stay.
Special attention: in special places where the concentration of toxic gas in the air is known to exceed the set alarm value, no fixed toxic gas detection and alarm point may be set up.In case of entering the workplace, relevant personnel should be equipped with portable toxic gas detection alarm and effective personal protective equipment.
